Where is the future?
Kansas State University's Digital Ethnography Project offers an array of thought-provoking videos, blogs, and more. If you have not been watching, you might learn exactly how different the world your students will graduate into is from the world you are teaching them to be prepared for.
Note how these videos rely on new-fangled legal protections (Creative Commons) in order to deal with the new-fangled reality of the new-fangled internet. Imagine a university ten years ago that would have released teaching material as free and copyable. And on top of that, imagine a school administrator ten years ago who could get it through his head that on-demand online video would be so ubiquitous ten years later.
